Rosemary Randell BA, BFA, CSPWC, SCA,FOWS

Many people imagine an artists life to be solitary, but Randell's studio is always bustling with enthusiasm, excitement, new paintings, ideas and activity as she opens her studio to her many students throughout the year.
Born in Montreal, Randell's fascintion with painting started early at the age of four,when she began painting with her father, who had been the Chief of Police on the HRH Queen Mary,regaling her with tales of all the places he had travelled to around the world, leaving her with a craving to see all that he talked of.
Graduating with a Fine Arts degree from Concordia University,Randell travelled and painted her way across Europe,Turkey, North Africa, Britain and several Mediterranian islands for over 6 years, and still loves going on location any chance she gets.
Randell's watercolours are highly detailed, with intense colour that capture a strong sense of light, atmosphere and realism. Her architectural works and still life paintings have made her an award wnining artist. Her achievments include exhibitions at Stirling Castle Scotland; the National Gallery in Mexico city;University of Indiana; being featured on CTV's "Regional Contact"; working as an art consultant for Playboy and having the honour of being juried into both the Society of Canadian Artists (SCA) and the Canadian Society of Painters in Watercolor (CSPWC), where her paintings have hung with some of the Group of Seven in Toronto.
Randell's newest love is of portraiture, where she now working on portraits and multiple portraits. The first two in the series "The Long Good-bye" and "Three's Company", both won the presidents' award at the OWS (Ottawa Watercolour Society), recently. Randell was also asked to greet Prince Charles in 2012 at Rideau Hall, and the multiple portrait entitled "About Face" that was painted afterwards can be seen on her Gallery page.
Randell currently sits on the Board of Directors for the CSPWC and is the
President of the Ottawa Watercolour Society.
Randell 's works are in both private and coorporate collections around the world. She has completed over 460 commissions & offers classes in all levels for both drawing & painting in her Kanata Lakes Studio/Gallery.
